Reddit user BitcoinErrorLog has done some excellent citizen journalism and exposed a major scam of a fake bitcoin conference called the London Bitcoin Forum, which is selling tickets for over £100. The problem? The venue they say they are holding it in reports no bitcoin conference at all happening this month.
It's a very professional and crisp looking website they have made, but all the so-called speakers and guests are just fakes or people who were duped. None of the corporate sponsors are real, and it's all just an elaborate scam to collect ticket money and run.
So fair warning to all out there: The London Bitcoin Forum is a scam, there is no event going on, and you will lose your money if you try to buy tickets.
